Hi everyone, i went to post my swap mini to Louise R. today....and then remembered it was a Bank Holiday here and the post office was closed!

So tomorrow it will be on its way....

HO HO HO!

Well tomorrow is the big day... as in, if you haven't done it by tomorrow then it doesn't get done!
I haven't wrapped one single gift yet, but i suppose it will all get done, i work well with deadlines...
So, i'll wish you all a very merry Christmas now, because there won't be time tomorrow!
I will eat loads, relax, enjoy my family and watch rubbish tv...in my pyjamas!

Christmas cards.

This is the first year i have made Christmas cards....and this is what i came up with! really simple and quick.

So, now all i have to do is cut about lots and lots of little birds!

Festive Cheer!

Hi, i'm off to Cork city today to do my christmas shopping.... I'm not a shopper so about twice a year i head for the city and do enough to last!
Today i'm going with Himself, i have a list as long as my arm, which strangly is for things that other people have asked me to pick up, and i'm not really sure what i'm looking for!
However, there is a really nice coffee shop so that will be the first stop, and a really lovely Italian for lunch.....
So, i'm full of festive cheer, will drive Himself mad singing christmas carols all the way there (its an hour each way!) and will come home and decorate the tree.

I've been doing some journaling and playing with inks and stamping.... I'm doing an altered art course in January, so i thought i'd practise a bit. I like it, its fun, it can't really go wrong, you just pretend thats the way you wanted it to look!!

GGS Swap for Roseann.

The mini i made for the GGS swap for November is shown in the slide show on the right. Its a 6"x6" concertina album made from K&Company Life's Journey papers, with some Sassafras Woodland Whimsy thrown in for good measure.
I'll go and post it today,and then i think i'm up to date (if you don't count the unfinished kintting!) and can start my Ho,ho, ho album.

Well, today saw the majority of the minis being swapped for November!
Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou to everyone who participated, I'm really pleased with how it went.
I was debating doing one for December because everyone is so busy, but it seems the interest is there so this is the deal......
If your interested (new people extremely welcome!) then leave me a comment here with your blog address, on Tuesday morning, the 1st of December i will post the names in pairs. Its open to anyone in Ireland and Great Britain, the mini can be as small as 31/2" by 31/2" and a maximum of 6x6", and must contain at least 6 pages.
Because its a very busy month for everyone you will have until Womens Christmas- thats January 6th - to complete it and the theme is.... HO, HO, HO!! (what a surprise!)

Camera Trouble!

Hi, i've been trying to do a video of the TWS swap for Louise.... and nothing has gone right!
First the camera kept cutting out, i can't find out how to take the timer off of it, then it looked fine on the camera but its really fuzzy on Youtube!
So, I'm going to meet Louise today (yeah!) and ask her if she would make a little video of it since i've done such a bad job. Of course if i hadn't left it untill the last minute i could have fixed it, but as usual there is NO TIME!!
I'll take photos instead.

Hello!

I've been really busy trying to finish projects.... I'll post a video of Robyns mini that i finished last night. Louise's mini is half done, but i'm waiting for something special to arrive before that will be ready (hope its worth the wait!).
Yesterday i got an email from Roseanne in North Carolina, i'm swapping with her for the GGS swap. Because it is already the 19th of November i had started a mini for her already, its vintage using Lifes Journey papers. Very fortunately she said she likes old things!
So, i think i'm almost up to date, my knitting is still not finished, and we had a huge new delivery into the shop this week.... its all lovely and i want to knit things in it, but i'm being very restrained, no more new knitting! (untill these cardigans are finished!)

So, i did get something done after all! This is a 16x20" canvas, painted with black acrylic paint. I got my fantastic plastic, some fibres and gold and silver deco metal, and threw it all onto it and this is what came out!

If only i'd get on with it!.....

Its Monday, its wet and windy and I'm at home.... I have so many half finished projects at the moment that i've given up counting them! Thanks to Cathy my knitting infatuation is back, but that is a good thing as i have not one but two unfinished cardigans on the go, and i have to knit something for my Dad's birthday in December.
I'm playing with Fantastic Plastic, which is really cool, and i have a blank canvas (literally!) ready to fill.
Thats not including the two minis I have to give this month.....
And am i doing any of it? No! i'm sitting here talking about it!!
Ho hum, i'm sure inspiration will kick in any minute now....

Die Swap.

Thanks to Ann, Cathy, Mary and Ann L who all braved the weather to come over on Thursday evening. We spent the evening cutting pieces of paper into strange shapes.... in otherwords, having great fun!
Robyn was missed, but since i have her in the mini swap i was able to get a head start without giving anything away!
Anyway, Ann, i wish you a very safe and enjoyable trip home to Florida, and we'll catch up when you're back.

Halloween Mini!

WOW!!!! for once i am speechless...(yes, i know that doesn;t happen often!) today i went to the post office to collect my mini from Samantha, i was waiting outside the school for Molly and Zac trying to tear open the box with my keys, but it was so well wrapped that i had to wait till i got home. Just as well i would have shamed myself with all the screaming!
Every page is more amazing then the last, I'll make a video and put it up soon, i don't know how to start describing it.
Samantha also sent LOTS of extra goodies, ribbons, papers and embellishments. and some really cool wooden bits ready to be painted.
So Thankyou Samantha, i just love it!!!!!

Todays craft club was really fun, the origami christmas tree cards proved a bit fiddly but worth the trouble. The Brenda Walton Twisted Peppermint papers are festive but you could use alot of them for other themes aswell.

Passionately Pink!!

Laura Denison is running a campaign to raise money for breast cancer research. She asked people to donate a pink themed mini album, she will then hold a silent auction on her blog www.followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com starting on Halloween.

The photos of the album had to be with her by the 29th - today. Not a problem said I, I'll have it finished by the 25th said I...... I wasn't counting on a very cross child, having a row whilst holding a large glass of ribena..and so, i have been up since 6.30 to finish the NEW album and have just sent off the photos to Laura now.
Its amazing what you can achieve when there is a good cause involved!

Technophobe!

Hi, i was planning to put up a video of my first ever paper bag album.... but i cant get the camera to co-operate with the computer!!
The USB lead is plugged in and i've done all the usual things but nothing is happening.
Hmmmm, Tim is not here..... whenever there is a technical glitch in this house its really easy to fix, you just say, "Tim!!" so i'll try to get it going but if not i'll post it tomorrow.
Anyway, thanks Tienne for the paper bags, no i'm not planning on hyperventilating alot!

Scrapzville Album Trade!!

In a moment of madness i decided to try and set up a mini album trade....
There are loads of these things around, but as far as i know, none in Ireland ( don't quote me on that though, more like none i've heard of in Ireland!)
So, if you would like to join in, this is how you do it...
Leave me a comment with your email and or blog address, on the 30th of October i'll gather up all the names, ( obviously, i'll be far too busy trick or treating and riding my broomstick on the last day of the month!) and on the 1st of each month i'll post all the pairs of names., & email you all your swap partners addresses.
The mini albums must be no bigger then 6"x6", no smaller then 31/2" x 31/2".
They must have at least 6 pages, and i will give a theme for each month, which knowing me will be very vague. The books must be in the post by the 25th of each month, and you can send photos or a video of your book to me and then everyone can see your work on the blog!
Pheww, that was alot of information!

This morning the postman brought a package that contained....Ashton's Mini Book!!

Its really pretty, thank you so much Ashton, i've never seen the water drop finish that is on the front cover before.

There are tags and pockets and spaces for journaling, its lovely, bright colours and has pearls decorating the front and back covers. I'll put up the pictures now, i hope you can see all the details. There are too many details to list!

Muchos excitement!!
Ashton has posted my mini, she sent it on Tuesday so we will see how efficient the postal service is! i'll try and make a video of it and if not i'll put pictures up, so watch this space!!
Also, the Scrapbeach swap list is out today. I'm swapping with Samantha in Georgia, a month ago i didn't know anyone in America!!
There was a huge delivery at the Crafty Alley Shop today, so if your looking for Adirondack ink pads, distress inks, dimensional pearls or really nice new wooden stamps then thats the place to go....... unless i get them all first!!!!!

Yesterdays Crafty Alley craft club went very well. We made bunting, and a 3D flower card, discussed the merits of the BigShot and generally had a good time! Why is it that 3 hours crafting goes faster then any other 3 hours?????
Anyway, lots of get well wishes for Robyn who was unable to join us, You were missed!!

Aghhhhh! i should have published these pictures in reverse! The first one is the back cover, the last is the front.... the black frame has only been stuck down at the bottom so a photo could be added. The only thing i added from my stash were the little gems, everything else came in the kit.

Hi, its Sunday morning and a beautiful day - I was supposed to go to mount Brandon today, but Zac has a high temperature (39 degrees) so i'm here at home with him. Hopefully he will feel better soon!
I'm looking forward to next months GGS swap already, it'll be Halloween month - my favourite time off year_ so that will be really good fun for a mini book theme. I n fact i think i'll make two and keep one myself!
Here is a question...what do you do with your mini books? how do you display them?
mine are on book shelves, but facing out so i can see the covers, that takes up alot of space though, so i was wondering what other people did with them!

Hey everyone (i can say that now that there are more people then just me looking at this!)

I'm looking forward to next week when i get to go to a new friends house to learn all about stamping . Robyn www.injoystampin.com has very kindly offered to host an evening for our craft club. This women knows alot about card making!
I got a scrap kit today from Marion at a piece of craft, i collected it from the post office at 9am, and am amazed that i had the patience to not open all the bits and pieces untill i got home from work. Its lovely, really cool vintage stuff, and tags!! my favourite thing at the moment.
I was going to make an altered art book, but when it came to actually doing it i couldn't - it goes against my nature to deface a book. However, Marion sent some pages of a book in the kit and since i didn't tear it up why not use it??!! (thanks Marion!)
So, i'm going to make an altered book/tag/creation using Que Sera Sera papers from The Crafty Alley Shop www.craftyalley.com they are really vibrant and busy!

Its Tuesday and the sun is supposed to be shining, but so far there is no sign of it....
I'm going to post the GGS album to Ashton today because i have no idea how long it will take to get to America.
Since i'm off today i can't decide whether to go kayaking or go to the mountains, i think the weather will decide for me - if it rains i may as well get wet anyway!!
So, my plan is to take the kids to school, eat a leisurely breakfast and then go and do something fun!!

I've just had an email from my GGS swap buddy! the date for these to be sent is the 30th, so i'd better get on with finishing it. I will take some photos and post them after Ashton has received it - i'd hate to spoil the suprise!

The kitchen table can't be seen under all the stash! There is stuff everywhere, and all so i can make my album for GGS! I'm actually flying through it, knowing when to stop will be the problem, i'll post photos when its done.

I've just taken Ebony to college. I thought it would be worse but its been a gradual move, the only thing left to move in was her! She has a great adventure ahead of her, just as i was leaving she was wondering what she would cook for dinner, these are the things she must learn!
Truthfully though, i am very sad, and have cried lots. I know this day has been coming for the last 18 years, but i wasn't quite ready for it.
Anyway I wish her the very best and send her all my love xxxx

Monday 7th September

I'm off to my Tai Chi class this evening, i haven't done it for years but i'm looking forward to it.
I'm bringing my parents too, they want to do some excersise so this will be nice and gentle for them.
I spent the day driving around doing lots of jobs, i got everything done but every day i'm off work i think "I won't go anywhere today, just stay at home and catch up with things" - that never happens!
Well i'd better get ready, i'll let you know how it went..
